Robert Bradshaw “In my work I Illustrate drama unfolding,
much like a one act play...not actually recording a fact so much as creating an effect. My aim is to stop and engage the viewer, to
impose the image on his imagination.” Robert Bradshaw is a native of
Midland, Michigan. He attended the
Chicago Art Institute, as well as the American Academy of Art (Chicago). He put his career on hold when he enlisted
in the Korean War. After his return, he was employed at a
interior design firm in Boston, Massachusetts for 15 years, which led him to
open his own gift and home furnishings store in San Francisco,
California. He sold the business in
1985. Bradshaw’s new passion was
painting. His intricate technique is
to start with sketching, then inking, and the final phase of painting with
wax based Prismacolor pencils. |
