Hanson House is a
hospitality house providing temporary shelter to families of the critically
ill or injured in Desert Regional Medical Center. The Palm Springs Smooth Jazz Festival is a
fundraiser for the Hanson House Foundation.
Dr. Ercoli, Cheryl Long and others work endless hours for many months
— without benefit to themselves— to
make the festival happen. The proceeds from the
sales of the Fine Art Show at the 2003 Festival went to help with the daily
operations of the House. The artists
who participated in the show did so because they recognized that Hanson House
was, as the Doctor says, “a critical cause”.
This show was chosen
from our community of artists. It was
diverse in style and medium and representative of the eclectic mix of people
who make up the Coachella valley area.
When a community
chooses to be creative, positive and to work together, great things can be
accomplished. Hanson House and this
collection are the embodiment of that spirit. Thank you for your
support of Hanson House, I hope you never have to use it. --Jana Koroczynsky,
